The Birchwood Hotel & O.R. Tambo Conference Centre boasts beautifully appointed 450 guest bedrooms, including Twin Rooms, Standard Twin Rooms, Queen Prestige Rooms,  Luxury King Rooms,  Suites, Honeymoon Suites and rooms for the disabled.

All of the comfortable rooms offer the facilities you would expect from a 4-star hotel. These include an en-suite bathroom, TV with satellite channels, tea- and coffee-making facilities, hairdryer, safe and mini bar fridge. Luxury amenities combine with luxurious surrounds to ensure the guests feel completely refreshed for their days spent at the congress.

The Prestige Rooms are larger, and equipped with a dedicated work desk, designed to suit the needs of the corporate traveller. A mini kitchenette with the essentials in cutlery and crockery is also available in all Prestige Rooms.

The Luxury Suite comprises a bedroom, lounge, dining area and full kitchen, in addition to the amenities enjoyed by guests of the Prestige Rooms.            

For the convenience of our delegates, the following accommodation has been selected as the official 31^st South African National Blood Transfusion Congress accommodation, and special rates have been agreed upon for these purposes. Bookings need to be made through Scatterlings Conference & Events to obtain these rates.

Please note the following:

   * Check-in date is Sunday, 15 November 2009, and check- out date is Wednesday, 18 November 2009.

   * Accommodation can only be booked for a minimum stay of 3 nights (15 November 2009 - 18 November 2009).

   * Delegates staying in unofficial congress accommodation will need to provide their own transport.

Accommodation Terms & Conditions:

1.     The Congress is being held in peak season.  For this reason, we recommend that you book and pay for your accommodation as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.

2.     The Congress Secretariat will hold a number of rooms especially for congress delegates until Friday, 11 September 2009.  After that date, bookings will be subject to availability and on a first-come first-served basis.

3.     No accommodation bookings will be confirmed without full pre-payment.

4.     See registration terms and conditions for conditions of invoicing and payment.  Accommodation bookings will be included on your registration invoice.

5.     Accommodation rates include room, breakfast and VAT and 1% compulsory government tourism levy.

Accommodation Cancellation Policy:

1.     All cancellations must be received by the Congress secretariat in writing.

2.     Any cancellations received before Friday, 11 September 2009 will receive a full refund, less a 10% administration fee.

3.     Any cancellations received between Friday, 11 September and Friday, 9 October 2009 will receive a 50% refund.

4.     No refunds will be issued for cancellations received after Friday, 9 October 2009.

5.     Refunds will be issued after the completion of the Congress.
